WHAT ARE WE?
Adventures With Education is an unincorporated voluntary association supporting home educating families. AWE is a Hackney based group although we support families throughout London.

HOW WE RUN
As a voluntary association, we run according to our constitution (which can be viewed on request). We have a Secretary, Chairperson and Treasurer. All members share responsibility for the group and ideas etc. are shared by all members at regular group meetings. In addition we have an Annual General Meeting .

WHAT WE DO?
We are a self funding group providing regular meetings, trips, workshops and residential holidays for members. We rely on parental input to make the group work.

As well as various ‘one off ‘ workshops, we have regular structured sessions taking place weekly, bi-weekly and monthly.
Examples of regular activities include;
Book club, Awe-chestra, story time, ‘the great debate’, French, arts and crafts, science

WHERE/WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet every Tuesday during term time 11AM- 3PM

VENUE FACILITIES
We have access to a lovely adventure playground with climbing frames and swings, and a sandpit. We are right by the River Lee and Springfield Park, so can access tennis courts, a rowing club and many other outdoor pursuits

Indoors we have a fully equiped kitchen (where we prepare a cooked lunch each week), a soft play room, sensory room arts and crafts space and a workshop/chill out space. There is also a hydrotherapy pool on site where we can book sessions.

COSTS
Yearly membership to AWE is currently one pound. In addition to this we charge £3 per family + £1 per child for each session to help towards the running costs and rent.

MEMBERSHIP INFO
New members are always welcome. Anyone currently home-educating their school-aged child(ren) are welcome to attend group prior to filling out membership forms. Siblings are welcome too, but we are specifically providing a venue for children aged 5+.
